When a camper ages out of Camp Discovery at age 16, they must wait until they are 18 years old to volunteer at Camp Discovery.  This program helps these campers make the transition between Camp Discovery camper and Camp Discovery volunteer by taking them to volunteer during their age 17 gap year at Give Kids the World Village. Many of these children went to Give Kids the World on their own wish trips when they were younger, so this enables them to learn about giving of themselves and serving current wish families the way they were served when they were undergoing treatment themselves.
