Discovery Camps Text Message Program

About the program
Discovery Camps offers a text message program for donors, volunteers, and event guests who choose to receive updates by text.
By opting in, you agree to receive text messages from Discovery Camps, which may include:
- Volunteer opportunities, shift reminders, and confirmations
- Event invitations and RSVP reminders
- Urgent notices about an event or shift you signed up for
- Campaign and appeal updates
- Giving opportunities and impact news
This program is not used to communicate with camper families about registration, program logistics, or a child’s care.
Who can opt in
You must be 18 years of age or older to opt in. We do not enroll children in our text message program.
Consent is not a condition of donating, volunteering, registering for a program, or receiving any service from Discovery Camps. You will always be able to participate fully, and give, without receiving text messages.
How to opt in
You may opt in by checking the SMS consent box on one of our online forms.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies, up to 6 messages per month.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Discovery Camps does not charge for the text messages we send, but your mobile carrier’s standard messaging and data rates apply to messages you send and receive. Check with your carrier if you are unsure of your plan’s rates.
How to opt out
Reply STOP to any message from us at any time to stop receiving text messages. This stops all text messages from us, including reminders, confirmations, and service messages. You will receive a single confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and we will not send you further messages unless you opt in again.
Stopping texts does not affect your enrollment in any program, your donation history, or how we care for your family. We will simply reach you by email or mail instead.

Carriers and delivery
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery depends on your carrier’s network and your device, and we cannot guarantee that every message will be delivered.
Our program is intended to work across major United States wireless carriers. Carrier support may change without notice.
Your privacy
No mobile information will be sold, rented, leased, shared, or otherwise transferred to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Your mobile number and messaging consent are shared only with the messaging service providers that transmit our messages on our behalf, and those providers may not use that information for any other purpose. We do not upload mobile phone numbers or messaging consent data to advertising or analytics platforms.

Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted at discoverycamps.org/sms-terms, and we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
